circa 1800, with octagonal 5in. barrel signed 'NEWCASTLE', silver bead fore-sight, gold line at breech, engraved top-tang, flat bevel-edged lock with foliate engraved stepped tail signed forwards of the hammer 'DAVISON', sliding safe behind the hammer (thumb-piece broken), rainproof pan, roller bearing to the frizzen-spring, walnut full-stock with chequered bag-shaped butt (cracked through and repaired), diamond shaped escutcheon at wrist, iron trigger-guard bow and original ramrod
