circa 1840, with 1in. 'barrel', graduated iron 'snail' operating on a spring-loaded ratchet to the fore with release lever behind, squared border and scroll engraved central hammer boxlock action signed in a banner on the left hand side 'LABBON', walnut slab-sided butt (cracked and repaired at head) and iron scroll engraved trigger-guard bow, strong traces of original finish
