circa 1865, with blued fully fluted 3in. barrel-group, nickel-plated bronze frame (losses to plating) marked 'C.SHARPS PATENT 1859' on the left hand side and 'C. SHARPS & CO PHILADA PA' on the right, central hammer with rotating striker-nose, chequered gutta-percha grips (one cracked), action slightly at fault
