A .750 FLINTLOCK SINGLE-SHOT SERVICE MUSKET, MODEL 'BROWN-BESS', no visible serial number,
circa 1760, with shortened 41in. barrel, re-applied block fore-sight, moulded band at breech with Tower proofs, plain top-tang, typical slightly curved and radiused lock with pointed tail signed 'T' over 'JONES' forwards of the hammer, unbridled frizzen, walnut three-quarter hand-rail stock with flat-top comb, replacement brass heel-plate, shaped ribbon sideplate, shaped brass trigger-guard with moulded spherical finial, the wood slightly swollen at the ramrod throat, brass plain ramrod thimbles and later incorrect ramrod (heavily stained with surface corrosion, the woodwork badly wormed)
