Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed on the 21st September 1868 for W. Cornwallis-West Esq.
Research would indicate W. Cornwallis-West to be William Cornwallis-West, Lord-Lieutenant of Denbighshire from 1872 to 1917, a Justice of the Peace for Hampshire and Denbighshire and an Honorary Colonel in the 4th Battalion of the Royal Welch Fusiliers.
