circa 1840, with twist-iron 4in. octagonal barrel (cleaned), Birmingham proved, border and scroll engraved rounded corner brass-bodied boxlock action with side-hammer and standing notch rear-sight, finely chequered pistol-grip butt with white-metal engraved flat-based cap, iron trigger-guard bow, side-mounted belt-hook and brass bottom-rib with captive iron stirrup ramrod
