A BRITISH PATTERN 1897 INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD SIGNED 'J.R. GAUNT & SONS', serial no. 14785, circa World War One, with straight 33in. blade etched for half its length, proof-mark at forte, half basket pierced iron hilt with cypher of GRV, wire-bound shagreen grip, complete with leather sword-knot and field-scabbard (some wear throughout)
