for 1816 with later conversion to percussion, with heavy 32 1/2in. triple-stage barrel (partially stripped of finish), the underside of barrel with London proofs and marked 'CL', engraved colour-hardened breech (missing lock buttress), with platinum line and plug, the top inlet with gold poincon signed 'NORTH SOUTHTON', fully scroll engraved top-tang, border and scroll engraved flat lock signed 'JOSEPH MANTON' with additional bored holes possibly from pre-conversion, chequered walnut half-stock with iron furniture (missing ramrod throat), horn fore-end tip and period replacement ramrod
