AN 11mm (FRENCH ORDNANCE) SIX-SHOT SERVICE-REVOLVER, MODEL 'M1874 OFFICER'S', serial no. H29527,
circa 1877, with two-stage 4 1/2in. barrel, the top flat stamped 'MLE 1874' (badly rubbed), block and blade fore-sight, standing notch to the rear of the grooved top-strap, fluted stepped cylinder, blued frame with detachable sideplate, blued ancilliaries, walnut chequered two-piece grips, lanyard swivel to the iron pommel-cap, the whole retaining traces of an older re-blue, all matching numbers
