Product Details

1914 - EJ CHURCHILL, GUNMAKERS' CATALOGUE - 100 YEARS OLD, a) This detailed, hard-backed red catalogue (7 1/2 in x 10 in) was produced by EJ Churchill Gunmakers a couple of months before the outbreak of World War I and is now very rare. Apart from some fading on the left-hand side of the red front cover, this catalogue is in prime condition. On the frontispiece is the coat of arms of King Alfonso XIII of Spain. The Spanish royal warrant was granted to Edwin John Churchill on 30 May 1905 after he built guns for King Alfonso and his Court. The following year King Alfonso married Queen Victoria's granddaughter, Princess Victoria Eugenie of Battenburg, who was known affectionately as Princess Ena. This 32 page Illustrated Catalogue of GUNS AND RIFLES from E. J. CHURCHILL, Practical gun and Rifle Makers of 8 Agar Street, Strand London, W.C gives details of their "Featherweight" model small bore gun, plus details of their "Premier", "Hercules", "Monte Carlo", "Field", "Utility", Prodigy", "Jungle", "Imperial", "India", Africa" and the "Cape" model combination gun and rifle. Details are also given of EJ Churchill's "Cross-Eye" and "Semi Cross Eye" gun stocks. Also
