first year of production, 1919, with blued 19 1/4in. barrel, tall dove-tailed fore-sight stamped '.59', elevating notch rear-sight, plain blued air-chamber etched 'THE BSA STANDARD AIR-RIFLE .22 BORE (No2)' separated by a BSA 'piled arms' trademark above 'THE BIRMINGHAM SMALL ARMS CO LTD, SOLE MAKERS' above various international patents from 1906 to 1908 and registered design numbers (etching dark but legible), two-hole trigger-unit, chequered walnut half-pistol grip saw-back stock with grooved butt-end and blued push-button release under-lever, the whole retaining much original finish throughout
