possibly early 18th century, with central wide 16in. double-edged flared blade with twin backwards curving 7in. side-blades, pierced bronze? ferrule with ribbed laquered binding with central ferrule terminating in a further pierced ferrule below (losses to binding), the remainder of plain hardwood, possibly originally capped, the whole approximately 8 foot overall, surface corrosion to exposed iron surfaces
