AN UNUSUAL AND RARE ORIENTAL HEAVY CROSSBOW BOLT,
probably Chinese, circa 1870, 23in. overall with finely wrought slightly swamped armour-piercing blade of flattened diamond section, laquered bamboo shaft (losses to laquer), red cotton binding forwards and aft of the real feather flights, each flight separated by an embroidered panel and applied carved wood notch to end (some light corrosion to blade, flights distressed)
