A GOOD AND LARGE HUNTING BOWIE-KNIFE,
circa 1890, with 15 3/4in. narrow clip-point blade false-edged for the last 5 3/4in., the left hand side of blade signed 'EMILE LAPORT & CIA', the ricasso stamped 'EMILE LAPORT & CIA, RIO DE JANEIRO' NICKEL-plated boat-shaped cross-guard with flat rounded quillions (remnants of a red felt buffer), full-length tang and natural staghorn scales with beaked pommel held by three pins TOGETHER WITH its brown leather scabbard with nickel-plated mounts, carved oak leaf and acorn frog-button and associated leather belt-frog
