circa 1900, with 6 3/4in. blade false edged for the last 4in., the side of the blade marked 'M' over 'TRUSTWORTHY' within a banner and signed beneath in a crescent 'MAPPIN & WEB, ROYAL CUTLERY WORKS, SHEFFIELD', the forte also marked 'M' and 'TRUSTWORTHY', German silver boat-shaped cross-guard with ball quillions, turned coin-edged ferrule, turned ebony hilt with swollen pommel with a German silver 'beehive' coin edged pommel-cap, TOGETHER WITH its black leather reinforced scabbard with belt-loop (some wear to scabbard)
