WILTSHIRE, LONDON GEORGIAN ENGLISH INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD WITH BLUE AND GILT BLADE, circa 1780, the straight single-edged 32 1/2in. blade with broad full-length fuller, the first third of the blade lightly engraved with arabesques and the cypher and coat of arms of George ? on a blue and gilt ground (losses and wear), gilded double oval-shell guard carved with 'kidney-bean' recesses and a relief floral border around the blade, gilded 'D' shaped knuckle-bow (quillion broken off and missing), faceted urn pommel and wire-bound grip, complete with its black leather scabbard with gilded mounts, the throat engraved 'THO'S WILTSHIRE, SWORD CUTLER, 46 LOMBARD ST, LONDON', twin suspension rings, scabbard and mounts worn
