for 1876-77, with re-blued round 30in. barrel signed 'EVANS REPEATING RIFLE, MECHANIC FALLS ME. PATENTED DEC. 8 1868 & SEPT. 16 1861', block and blade fore-sight, folding 'L' shaped rear-sight with two notches and six apertures, two-piece moulded iron re-finished receiver with open ejection-port and integral 34-shot magazine tube running the full length of butt, applied walnut comb and toe, 'S' shaped iron underlever with exposed under-hammer, walnut three-quarter length fore-end and three iron barrel-bands
