dated for 1832 with later re-conversion back to flint, round, 42in. barrel, the breech heavily stamped with 'U.S.', a 'DT' inspectors mark and a 'P' proof mark, the top-tang dated 1831, large flat military lock stamped at the rounded tail 'MIDD.TN. CONN 1832' and 'N.STARR' beneath a starburst forwards of the hammer, walnut three-quarter stock, iron furniture and iron ramrod

Other Notes: The Model 1816 was the most successful and prolific of all the US flintlock muskets with approximately 675,000 produced by various contractors. Nathan Starr contributed 15,530 muskets between 1829-1840
