manufactured 1863-65 with later conversion to central-fire, with round 8in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, no provision for rear-sight, plain two-piece frame, plain cylinder with later standing breech and frame mounted firing-pin, single-action trigger-mechanism, smooth walnut one-piece grip (three notches near top of back-strap) and deliberately frozen under-barrel rammer
