A 12-BORE 1879 PATENT ROUND-ACTION TRIGGERPLATE-ACTION EJECTOR, serial no. 2549,
28in. reblacked fine steel nitro barrels, the rib re-engraved 'JAMES MACNAUGHTON, 26 HANOVER STREET EDINBURGH & PERTH' (pitted, slightly loose) and '2', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke, MacNaughton 1879 patent treble-grip triggerplate action, patent no. 2848, incorporating later 1894 barrel-cocking design, with slender toplever, top-strap with 1879 patent pivoting safety lever, with engraved 'SAFE' detail, slim fences, fine acanthus scroll engraving with ropework bordering, 15 3/8in. replacement stock with escutcheon engraved 'No.2 W.S.S.', including buttplate, weight 6lb. 14oz.
