circa 1760, with strongly swamped 11in. barrel, applied silver heart-shaped fore-sight, moulded bands to the central section, the breech portion with flat sides and a deeply relief-chiselled marshal and flag trophy with a central carved obelisk surmounted by a crescent device within a sunburst and with carved rococo scrolls beneath, the top-tang with borderline engraving, central sighting groove and engraved foliage to the tip (traces of gilding), radiused lock with relief chiseled marshal trophy to the tail on a gilded ground, signature forwards of the hammer (rubbed), chisel-carved hammer and top-jaw with a gilded ground, semi rain-proof pan with relief carved frizzen, walnut full-stock carved with acanthus foliage around the top-tang, the butt and fore-end with inlet silver-wire scrolls (losses), heavy cast silver furniture including vacant rococo escutcheon to the wrist, long-eared relief moulded hallmarked (unidentified) butt-cap with separate pommel-cap relief moulded with a crescent and stars, relief moulded trigger-guard bow and finial, the tang with a further unidentified hallmark (rubbed), silver ramrod pipes (worn) missing ramrod
