dated for 1874, with 25in. barrel, the breech end marked 'WHITWORTH RIFLING' (some pitting), block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, lift-up trapdoor action stamped 'MANUFACTURED BY WESTLEY RICHARDS' together with the 'triangle' trademark, plain lockplate signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co.' together with the date '1874' in a triangle to the tail, walnut full-stock with iron furniture, iron barrel-band and provision for clearing rod (missing)
