A CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION TRIGGER-COCKING FIVE-SHOT REVOLVER, MODEL 'TRANTER'S PATENT', serial no. 7611T,
circa 1855, with octagonal 6in. barrel, the top-strap signed 'J. BLANCH & SON, GRACE CHURCH ST, LONDON' within an engraved border, engraved band to muzzle, scroll engraving at barrel-throat, dove-tailed bead fore-sight, standing-notch rear-sight, borderline and scroll engraved frame, plain cylinder with borderline engraving and rope-band engraved to the front edge, 'Y' shaped safety spring, spur-less hammer, chequered walnut one-piece grip, iron heel-cap, trigger-guard bow with cocking trigger below and attached 'Tranter's Patent' rammer to left-hand side of barrel, older refinish throughout TOGETHER WITH its probable original makers oak case, relined in green baize, reproduction 'Blanch' trade-label to lid and complete with a number of accessories including the original numbered mould, powder flask (heavily cleaned, spring a/f), auxilliary loading rod, nipple key and period lube and caps
