circa 1845, with 5 1/2in. barrels, engraved band at muzzles, carved oval percussion fences with screwed plugs, border-line and scroll engraved boxlock side-hammer action (one hammer replaced), the top-strap signed 'MOORE & WOODWARD, 64 ST JAMES ST LONDON' within a banner, sliding safes behind the hammers, scroll engraved top-tang (repaired), chequered walnut butt (broken through and repaired), iron dome-shaped butt-cap with central hinged trap-door, engraved trigger-guard bow, double-triggers and captive iron stirrup ramrod TOGETHER WITH a later wood box fitted out for this pistol and containing a number of accessories including a powder-flask
