Algerian, circa 1800, with carved iron 11in. barrel, swollen muzzle engraved with naive foliage with a moulded plain ring band, the centre-section of the barrel with alternating inlaid chevrons of silver and brass, the voids between decorated with punched dots, the breech of octagonal form with silver washed engraved panels, engraved snaphaunce lock with silver panel inlays (top-jaw replaced, pan-cover missing), hardwood full-stock with flaring semi-faceted butt and engraved silver-capped pommel, the grip, side-panels and underside of stock inlaid with profuse silver wire scrolls and geometric devices, iron trigger-guard tang and bow with en-suite decoration, engraved white-metal barrel-band and brass wire ramrod
