THE MAJOR PARTS OF A RARE EARLY 19th CENTURY FLINTLOCK SIGNAL GUN, ref. 0143
circa 1815, of hand-held form, 24 1/2in. overall, the forward section approximately 10in. and formed of brass, rounded action with provision for flintlock mechanism (missing lockplate, hammer and frizzen), off-centre priming pan and tube leading to a circular bronze flash-pan 3 1/4in. in diameter with hinged bronze lid, the walnut tiller butt with brass trigger-guard and internal connecting rod (at fault), the grip-piece stamped '109' (action and flash-pan miss-shapen, possible other faults), retaining its Weapons Collection identity disk
