28in. nitro barrels, rib engraved 'A.A. BROWN & SONS. BIRMINGHAM. ENGLAND. 'SUPREME DE-LUXE', and with fine acanthus scroll detailing at the breech ends, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 choke in both, slightly rounded bar action with A. A. Brown self-opening system, removable striker discs, slender toplever, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, gold-washed internals, rolled-edge triggerguard, fully engraved with bold acanthus scrollwork, the underside with a gartered cartouche with a lone cock pheasant in flight, signed 'WAL HOWE', and second cartouche engraved with the model designation, bright finish, 14 7/8in. very highly-figured stock including buttplate, weight 6lb. 5oz., in its lightweight leather case with gold-tooled A.A. Brown trade label
Other Notes: Walter Howe, master gun engraver, had been chief engraver at Webley & Scott. Upon his retirement, he was awarded a Queens Award for services to gun engraving. He continued to engrave from home for A.A. Brown for some years after his 'retirement'.
