A CASED PAIR OF 80-BORE PERCUSSION OFFICER'S PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1800 and converted from flintlock by drum and nipple, with 9in. re-browned octagonal barrels signed in script on the top-flats 'MAKER TO THE DUKE OF GLOUCESTER', dove-tailed fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights, the breech-ends with inlet geometric gold and platinum bands, slightly curved bevel-edged step-tailed locks with sparse acanthus scroll engraving, blued dolphin-headed hammers with sliding safes behind, walnut full-stocks with chequered pistol-grips, the pommels swollen and carved with moulded shells to heel and surrounded by a silver band, square-backed finger-spurred trigger-guards, set triggers, twin barrel keys and probable replacement ramrods, COMPLETE WITH their makers original walnut storage case, re-lined in green baize but retaining the original trade-label
