* AN 18-BORE WHEEL-LOCK SPORTING-RIFLE SIGNED 'WOLFF SCHULTZ', no visible serial number,
dated for 1683 but almost certainly a later Georgian copy with some earlier parts, with octagonal 30 1/2in. barrel, the top flat signed 'WOLFF SHVLTZ 1683' together with a struck makers mark, dove-tailed fore-sight, dove-tailed rear-sight, solid squared top-tang, squared lock (possibly earlier) with internal wheel, profusely engraved with scrolls inhabited by monsters, mermaids and goblins, hammer en-suite, later walnut full-stock carved in the 16th century manner and naively inlaid with mother of pearl ovals and florettes, horn inlays to the cheek-piece and horn fore-end tip, 'hogs-bristle' set triggers and replacement horn-tipped ramrod
