23 1/4in. black powder only damascus barrels (slightly shortened), rib engraved 'W. W. GREENER. 68 HAYMARKET LONDON. WINNER AT THE LONDON GUN TRIALS 1875, 1877, 1878 & 1879', and with 'Treble Wedge Fast' patent details, 2 7/8in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both;
treble-grip action, manual side-safety, plain finish, 14in. semi-pistolgrip stock including 1/2in. wooden extension and steel buttplate, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release and pinned horn finial, weight 8lb. 11oz. (28in.) and 8lb. (23 1/4in.)
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this shotgun was completed in 1884 with 28in. barrels and an extra set of 24in. cylinder choked barrels for a Mr. Schwind.
