LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chamber, bored approx. true cyl., sidelever action, carved percussion fence, rebounding lock, sawtooth border and acanthus scroll engraving, 13 3/4in. figured stock, weight 4lb. 11oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was ordered by Lord Portman for Honble. Gerald B. Portman in 1890.
Gerald Berkeley Portman, 7th Viscount Portman was born on 23 January 1875. He was the son of William Henry Berkley Portman, 2nd Viscount Portman and Mary Selina Charlotte FitzWilliam.
