Product Details
** HAMMERLI, SWITZERLAND
AN ULTRA-RARE 4.4mm (BB) SPRING-PISTON REPEATING AIR-POWERED TRAINING UNIT FOR A K31 RIFLE, serial no. 2140,
circa 1950, with 14 1/2in. brass barrel, blued air-chamber with integral six-shot magazine with rotating cover, the body of the device marked 'HAMMERLI TRAINER MOD K31', 'PATENT' and the serial number, side-lever cocking with bakelite toggle in imitation of the rifle (losses to bakelite) and provision for top-clamp (missing)
Other Notes: Very few of these training devices are known to exist. The Blue Book of Airguns by Bob Beeman lists the number at less than 10, but research would suggest that the figure is closer to 100. The reason for its rarity is that the majority of the production was destroyed by a fire at the Hammerli factory, along with all the tooling. Replacing the bolt on a standard K31, the cocking action imitates the cartridge rifle and holds the same number of shots as the cartridge magazine.
