27in. replacement nitro chopperlump barrels (by the makers in 1976), raised matt ribs, tubes engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND.', 3in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and full choke, self-opening actions with removable striker discs, toplevers engraved '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, arrow cocking-indicators, articulated front triggers, best fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets (refreshed in places), retaining much renewed colour-hardening and finish, 14 5/8in. well-figured replacement stocks with matching fore-end woods, weight 6lb. 6oz., in a continental brass-cornered leather case
Provenance: The guns were completed in 1895 as 16-bore guns and subsequently re-barrelled by the makers to 20-bore in 1976
