circa 1870, with round 35in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, complex adjustable ladder rear-sight, octagonal breech and nocksform, plain demountable receiver with large cocking lever to rear and dropping loading ramp, walnut three-quarter stock, iron furniture, twin-trigger mechanism, the front trigger opening the action, the rear firing it, two iron barrel-bands, iron nose-cap and under-barrel iron clearing rod
