circa 1883, with 6in. barrel signed 'COGSWELL & HARRISON, 226 STRAND & 142 NEW BOND ST LONDON', nickel crescent fore-sight, push-button release fluted cylinder (rear locking notches built up, firing pin shortened, not recommended for use), break-open frame with automatic ejection, draw-bolt stirrup, chequered walnut birds-head grips, the left hand grip carved 'CAPTAIN F. McSheehy' within two floral banners, lanyard ring to heel, traces of original faded finish
