A RARE .45 (RIMLESS-SMOKELESS) SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL, MODEL '1905 AUTOMATIC', serial no. 1575,
for 1907, with 5in. blued barrel, blued slide marked 'PATENTED APRIL 20 1897, SEPT 9 1902, DEC 19 1905' together with 'COLT'S PATENT FIRE ARMS MFG CO HARTFORD CONN. U.S.A.' on the left hand side and 'AUTOMATIC COLT CALIBRE 45 RIMLESS SMOKELESS' on the right, long extractor-claw, blade fore-sight, dove-tailed rear-sight, full-length blued frame, external solid hammer, fully chequered domed walnut grips and heel magazine release, the whole retaining much of its original factory blue colour
