A FINE CASED PAIR OF PERCUSSION TARGET-PISTOLS, no visible serial number,
circa 1850, the browned octagonal 10in. rifled barrels marked in script on the top-flat 'DAMACE ANGLAISE', dove-tailed bead fore-sights, standing notch rear-sights, polished breech-blocks with border engraving, floral and ribbon engraving to the top-tang and locks, the locks signed 'RENAULT A ST ETIENNE' beneath the hammers, dipped tails, the hammers engraved en-suite, figured walnut half-stocks, fluted butts, iron furniture including spurred trigger-guard bow engraved en-suite, shell carving to the fore-end tip, no provision for ramrod, the whole in fine condition and retaining much finish; COMPLETE WITH its manufacturers walnut case, compartmented and lined in the continental fashion using red baize (faded) and containing a full complement of accessories
