circa 1775, with slightly swamped two-stage 40in. barrel, bead fore-sight mounted on an inlaid starburst background, private proofs, moulded bands at the intersection, hooked breech, the top-tang with sighting groove, flat bevel-edged step-tailed lock signed COOPER' with engraved details, walnut half-stock (probably shortened from full, fore-end split), inlet silver wire scrolls around top-tang, brass oval escutcheon to the chequered wrist (worn), engraved brass furniture including acorn finial and moulded fore-end cap, brass thimbles and replacement wood ramrod
