the mounts hallmarked for Birmingham, 1783, with round tapering banded 4in. cannon barrels, rounded breeches with private proofs, squared boxlock central hammer actions, signed 'R. BLISS' on the left and 'LONDON' on the right within banners surrounded by scroll engraving (one action body with blind crack), walnut bag-shaped butts inlaid with silver wire scrolls (small losses), the butt-caps of silver and embossed with grotesque masks and sliding trigger-guard bow safes
