26in. nitro reproved damascus barrels, rib engraved 'PATENT TREBLE WEDGE FAST. W.W. GREENER. 68. HAYMARKET LONDON. WINNER AT THE LONDON GUN TRIALS 1875, 1877, 1878 & 1879', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and full choke, action incorporating Greener self-acting ejector patent ejector system, patent no. 2003 of 9th May 1881 (requires adjustment), 1873 patent crossbolt, hold-open toplever with 'Jumping Jack' return stud, manual side safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fine floral bouquet and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 14 7/8in. figured (likely replacement) stock including 3/4in. leather covered recoil pad, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release catch and horn finial, weight 6lb. 3oz., in its canvas and leather case

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was started on the 7th January 1889 and completed on the 24th January 1890, as a '12-bore Ejector Model No.1'. The barrels are listed as 'B.S. Damascus' but the length is not recorded.
The gun was sold through Greener's London establishment (so no record of the original owner).

A letter from the makers detailing the individual craftsmen responsible for making the gun is supplied with the Lot.
