for 1893 (grip frame later), with tapering plated 4 1/2in. barrel, the top signed 'COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.', crescent fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, fluted cylinder, plated solid frame with side loading gate, blued grip-straps and trigger-guard, finely chequered hard-rubber birdshead grips embossed with the Colt trademark, side-mounted ejector-rod, the whole retaining a fair amount of factory finish
