AN 11mm (FRENCH ORDNANCE) SIX-SHOT SERVICE REVOLVER, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'M1874 OFFICER'S', no visible serial number,
circa 1880, private purchase, with two-stage 4 1/2in. barrel, the top flat with sighting groove, dove-tailed block and blade fore-sight, fluted stepped cylinder, plain frame with removable sideplate, loading gate to right hand side of frame, double-action trigger, spurred hammer and chequered two-piece walnut grips, the whole refinished with some staining; TOGETHER WITH a leather full-flap service holster (latching strap and belt-loop stitching undone)
