A 9.4mm (DUTCH) SIX-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION POLICE REVOLVER, serial no. 'A99',
circa 1875, with octagonal 3 1/4in. sighted barrel, the top-strap with central sighting groove and marked 'JE MAINTIENDRAI' and 'JOH MUNTS AMSTERDAM', plain cylinder stamped 'L.P.', frame marked 'J. MARECHAL, CHERATTE', with hinged loading gate and rocking side safety-catch, centrally mounted ejector-rod, chequered wood grips, the top of backstrap with a lion trademark and 'MUNTE', lanyard ring to heel; COMPLETE WITH a period leather holster
