Product Details

* REMINGTON ARMS
A RARE AMERICAN BAYONET POSSIBLY FOR THE REMINGTON-LEE 1899 RIFLE.
and possibly made for the Michigan State Militia circa 1900, with an 8 1/4in. fullered blade, the left hand fuller signed 'REMINGTON ARMS CO, ILION, N.Y.', iron cross-guard with strongly hooked quillion and muzzle-ring, wood scales held by two rivets, push-button release catch, complete with its iron scabbard (throat screw missing) with permanently attached leather belt loop to the reverse

Other Notes: The verified Michigan Militia bayonets have a blade length of 13 1/4in. The only other similar signed bayonet is that for the Model 1914 Remington Rolling Block, but that has a blade of nearly 16in. It is possibly that this example is for a previously unknown contract rifle.
