A CONTINENTAL HUNTING HANGER, PROBABLY FRENCH, late 18th century, with 22 1/4in. fullered single-edged spear-point blade, iron hilt with small guard with short scrolled quillons and decorated with hatched lines surrounding a flower, collar pierced with trellis-work, hatched grip-strap, button finial, and hardwood grip-scales each set with three iron roundels, in leather scabbard with iron locket pierced with further trellis-work (some pitting to blade, some wear throughout, chape replaced, scabbard leather warped).
