circa 1850, with 32in. heavy octagonal twist sighted barrel, scroll engraved recessed breech, border and scroll engraved tang and back-action lock (mechanism at fault), figured walnut full stock (cracked around side-nail, chipped above lock) with chequered grip and raised cheek-piece, set triggers (at fault), border and scroll engraved white metal mounts including crescentic butt-plate, scroll engraved iron scrolled pistolgrip trigger-guard, white metal escutcheon (possibly covering the mounting point for a target aperture rear-sight), sling mounts, and horn-tipped ramrod (some pitting throughout).
