A PARIS' in gold on the rib flanked with gold-inlaid foliage, the flats signed 'LEOPOLD BERNARD, CANONNIER A PARIS', tang and action chiselled in low relief with vines inhabited by a sparrowhawk with a sparrow in its talons, the opposite side with a fox, locks chiselled with further vines inhabited by roe deer and each signed 'BERINGER A PARIS', highly figured stock with raised cheek-piece, mounts chiselled en suite including trigger-guard acting as the underlever chiselled with a coat of arms and an owl in low relief, engravers signature 'L. Favel?' to lower tang, fitted with sling mounts and an under-barrel iron clearing rod
