circa 1855, most probably a Belgian licenced copy, with blued 6 1/2in. barrel, the top-strap inlaid in silver 'GENSDARMERIE GOTHA', dove-tailed fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with engraved panel behind, plain cylinder, solid borderline engraved frame, chequered one-piece walnut grip with floral border carved to the top and borderline to the base, provision for lanyard ring at heel and side-mounted 'Kerrs patent' rammer to left of barrel, strong traces of finish throughout
