Product Details

A SCARCE 60-BORE PERCUSSION SIDE-HAMMER REVOLVER, UNSIGNED, MODEL 'MANGEOT-COMBLAIN PATENT', serial no. 1203,
circa 1851, with octagonal 6in. sighted barrel, radiused muzzle, plain borderline and scroll engraved five-shot cylinder, open frame also borderline and scroll engraved, side safe, external engraved hammer offset to the right, chequered walnut one-piece grip with flared pommel, scroll engraved iron pommel-cap, guarded trigger (bow with old repair) and polished articulated rammer mounted to the right side of barrel, refinished throughout

Other Notes: Hubert Comblain started manufacturing his own improved revolvers in 1850 after having produced many pistols under licence for others. Henri Mangeot (Arquebusier To The Court Of Belgium) was a high end Liege retailer who finished pieces made by others in his own workshops. Because of his upmarket clientele, most of his pieces tend to be elaborately engraved
