Continental, probably German or Belgian and possibly converted from flintlock, with tapering round 8in. iron barrel, London and foreign proofs, flat, curved lock with indistinct signature and 'dog' safety-catch, walnut full-stock (fore-end split) with brass furniture, the bag-shaped butt drilled through for lanyard (missing), brass twin band nose-cap and no provision for ramrod; COMPLETE WITH a possibly associated heavy wood rammer
